Description/Synopsis:

Fathered by an incubus, raised by a mortal mother, and liaison to the Pemkowet Police Department, Daisy Johanssen pulled the community together after a summer tragedy befell the resort town she calls home. Things are back to normal—as normal as it gets for a town famous for its supernatural tourism, and presided over by the reclusive Norse goddess Hel.

Not only has Daisy now gained respect as Hel’s enforcer, she’s dating Sinclair Palmer, a nice, seemingly normal human guy. Not too shabby for the daughter of a demon. Unfortunately, Sinclair has a secret. And it’s a big one.

He’s descended from Obeah sorcerers and they want him back. If he doesn’t return to Jamaica to take up his rightful role in the family, they’ll unleash spirit magic that could have dire consequences for the town. It’s Daisy’s job to stop it, and she’s going to need a lot of help. But time is running out, the dead are growing restless, and one mistake could cost Daisy everything……

Review – MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I read this in 2013. My hopes were answered. Things improved in this book which like the first one I read as part of my Romance reading group Vaginal Fantasy.

Yes the book still has many of the things that I did not like in the first one. The beginning is still messy, there is a lot of repetition, and it does stray sometimes when it comes to narration. However this time there is so much more! For one there is romance in this book. Daisy has way too many people in love with her for my liking, however I stay in the hope that she will end up with Stefan. Sinclair is ever so very very boring. Hot but boring. Daisy needs someone deeper, even if Sinclair comes from a crazy witch family which pop up in this book.

There is more action in this book than in the last one and I think this is one of the things that made this book better than the first. For starters the book begins with an orgy, then there is preparation and introduction of all the witches in the community for the big mystical show down that is going to take place because of Sinclair’s family. Though sex slave mermaid was very interesting murderous spirit for a foe works better. This also means that we get some lovely moments with Stefan and Daisy as he trains her for the battle. We also get Jen’s sister going all vampire kick arse and becoming a strong character which you like rather than one that is just pathetic. So plot wise, yes very exciting thank you for making me very keen for the third book which I think is supposed to come out sometime in October of this year.

We get some other new characters in this book as well of course. One of them being Lee who gets added to the “I Love Daisy” fan club. I hate him. He gets cut too many chances. At one point hes like “lets do this!” and everyone is like “no thats not smart at all or safe. Dont do it, dont come.” Yet is comes and does it and very nearly stuffs everything up yet everyone praises him for it after. I would have been so angry. But then on the other hand we also get introduced to a hell spawn male lawyer that has something to do with people selling off their land. We don’t to know much about this character at all but his presence opens up many exciting things for the next book both plot wise and Daisy character development wise.

So yes. I liked this one better than the last, and don’t want to wait till October to read the next one! Give it to me now please. I have big hopes of it going better and better now since it got better from the last one. Give this book a read.
