So here is the challenges I set myself at the start of the year, lets see how many I have finished shall we? I shall cross off the ones I completed.

Reading

  • I will complete my Goodreads challenge of reading 80 books this year.
  • Read at least 10 adult novels.
  • Read at least 5 classics.
  • Read at least 5 different mangas/graphic novels.
  • Read at least 10 books that have been turned into movies/series, watch their movie/series counter parts, and review them both.
  • Read at least 10 books that have been on my TBR shelf for more than a year.
  • Debut Author Challenge: Reading at least 12 books by a debut author.
  • Reread at least 3 books.
  • Read things I feel I will enjoy rather than feel might be ok. I still do this sometimes. I find it hard to say no when I get asked to review a book.
  • Only read one NetGalley book at a timeIm sticking to this! I want my stats to be good.
  • Read at least 5 books that fall into genres that I do not normally read.

Blogging

  • Update the look of the blog.
  • Toy around with better names for the blog.
  • Participate in more challenges/memes/tags.
  • Be more active in our book blogging/vlogging community.
  • From this day forth, I will put up a post every three days!

Goodreads: COMPLETE! 85/80

Adult Novels: COMPLETE! 10/10

  1. A Game of Thrones [Song of Ice and Fire 1] by George R.R. Martin
  2. Love Gone Mad by Mark Rubinstein
  3. Faking It by Cora Carmack
  4. The First, The Sparrow, The Choice by Jason Mott
  5. Finding It by Cora Carmack
  6. The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey
  7. Grieftime by Heather Bulpett
  8. The Forgotten War by Howard Sargent
  9. The Returned by Jason Mott
  10. A Whisper of Eternity by Amanda Ashley

Classics: FAIL 3/10 They just take so much effort to read. So much effort.

  1. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
  2. The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde
  3. Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

Manga/Graphic Novel: 0/10 I was leaving these for the last seconded because they are the easiest to read but then I moved and I cannot read these on my kindle. I refuse. This was not the correct choice.

Movie Adaptations: PARTIAL CREDIT 7/10 – 6/10 I am giving myself half a complete for this because the list is huge and I did most of it, even if I have yet to actually write the reviews.

  1. Pay it Forward – Book/Movie
  2. Vampire Knight – Manga/Anime
  3. Divergent – Book/Movie
  4. The Fault In Our Stars – Book/Movie
  5. True Crime – Book/Movie
  6. Looking for Alibrandi – Book/Movie
  7. Mockingjay – Book/Movie

TBR Shelf: FAIL 0/10 Well, so much fail. I don’t know if I read anything that I can put under this label. I think the issue that I had with this challenge was that I decided that I was never going to read most the things that would count for it and I got rid of them. So I don’t really feel bad about it because they aren’t on my shelf anymore.

Debut Author: FAIL 3/12 – I COMPLETELY forgot to even remotely think about this challenge…. Maybe I can do better next year.

  1. Where You’ll Find Me by Erin Fletcher
  2. The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
  3. The Forgotten War by Howard Sargent

Reread: COMPLETE! 3/3

  1. The Host by Stephanie Meyer
  2. On The Jellicoe  Road by Melina Marchetta
  3. Divergent by Veronica Roth (Im not cheating by putting this here, I read this book twice last year.)

Different Genre: COMPLETE! 5/5

  1. Across the Universe by Beth Revis (Science Fiction)
  2. A House Without Mirrors by Marten Sanden (Childrens)
  3. The Returned by Jason Mott (Paranormal)
  4. The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan (Middlegrade)
  5. Cinder by Marissa Meyer (Science Fiction)

KEY:

Blue = Review Pending.

Black: Haven’t completed.
