Top Ten Favourite Heroines

I… I just can’t… I have literally been staring at all the books/mangas/movies I have loved and have had female characters in there that I love and I just cannot pick my favourite. It is hard enough to pick my favourite book which has many people and a story to love but just one character? I just can’t do it. So this list is in no particular order.

1. Sorcha from The Sevenwaters Series by Juliet Marillie – The struggle she has to go through pretty much all by herself. She is a truly awesome and strong heroine.

2. Faina from The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey – While she isn’t a typical choice, I just love the mystery surrounding her and that makes her an amazing character.

3. Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer – She is such an awesome characters. I love how she handles things and her general personality.

4. Ceriana from The Forgotten War by Howard Sargent – Im not even going to go into why I love her because it would ruin it, but I love her.

5. Lucy from Elfen Lied by Lynn Okamoto – She goes through so much struggle and it has made her sort of bad (well really bad), but she doesn’t want to be. Her story and character is just amazing.

6. Wanda/Melanie from The Host by Stephanie Meyer – I am putting them together since they are for pretty much all of the book. Together they really make a completely well rounded character who is so interesting.

7. Katniss from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – Do I really need to go into this one? Im sure she is on a lot of lists this week.

8. Rose from The Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead – Again, do I need to say much. Rose may have some issues but she is still an awesome female of butt kicking.

9. Elizabeth from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen – I felt like I needed to put a heroine from the classics in here. She goes for what she wants even if its looked down on, and she stays true to herself.

10. I struggled with choosing this last place, there are still a number of heroines I wanted to put on this list, but since I have mostly picked goody goody people I have chosen to put Nyx from Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge – She is brave and willing to sacrifice herself for those she is supposed to love, but because she is being asked to do those things makes her have hatred within her heart and this makes her an interesting heroine.

Top Ten Tuesday – Characters on a Deserted Isalnd

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Characters I Would Want With Me On A Deserted Island

1. Katniss from The Hunger Games. Her skills at staying alive in very tough times could really come in handy. She also knows how to get food.

2. Adrian from Vampire Academy. He is funny as hell, and cause he has money up his sleeve he could keep shipping the entertainment in. Also, it would be a great time to cosy on up to him. I haven’t read the part in bloodlines where they get together yet so I am not stealing him from Sydney!

3. Evie from Poison Princess. He powers to control plants could be useful to tame the wilderness, and who knows she could probably build us shelter with it.

4. Sorcha and Red from Daughter of the Forest in a double pack. I cannot split them up for even a moment. Sorcha’s knowledge of herbs and plant life could help some of us from dying. Red can be our protector.

5. Ceriana from The Forgotten War. This is going to be a bi of a spoiler for this book so move on if you don’t want details. Her connection with the dragon would give us the awesomeness of having a dragon handy that wouldn’t kill us unless she told it to.

6. Roland from Fallen. Cause he can get anything for anyone and has name brand parties in the first book.

7. Magnus from The Immortal Devices. He can also heal, has magic, and is funny. If he knew how to function in the wild he would be the whole package.

8. Griggs from On The Jellicoe Road. Cause I want him oh so bad. Also he is trained soldier so he could keep things in order and know tips for living.

9. Percy Jackson from The Lightning Thief. He can talk tot he things in the sea, so of he can’t get us off the island he at least can convince the creatures of the sea not to eat us.

10. Arriane from Fallen. She is so much fun! She will stop everyone from getting down in the dumps.

So there we are. I could spend all day thinking about this so I should stop. Share your lists!

Top Ten Tuesday – Characters Who I Loathe

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Characters Who I Loathe

  1. Number one spot is a combo because it is them together which I hate the most. Carla and her father from If I Should Die Before I Wake. I hate her father because he is everything that is wrong in our society today, and it was his actions that made Carla the person I hate the most.
  2. This special spot goes to Caleb from Insurgent. His actions in that book made me, and I will quote from my review here, “I wanted to ripped his eyes out and peel his skin from his body, one little bit at a time. While he was a awake and feel all this happening.”
  3. Joffrey from A Game of Thrones. I hated him more in the series, but god, do I hate this character. There was much wishing for pain and eventual death.
  4. Spot number four goes to The Inquisitor from City of Ashes. It didn’t take many encounters with this woman for the mere mention of her name to send me into a rage and feel deep seated hatred.
  5. Wanda’s own personal Seeker from The Host. Even though we find out it wasn’t the soul or seeker who we knew for most the book, but actually the human she had inside her head, but god I hated that character. She was just so damn annoying.
  6. Bill from Dead Until Dark. Such a dud that we are doomed to live with forever. So boring, no redeeming anythings.
  7. Charlie from The Last Thing I Remember. I think he is the first character I have hated this much just because he is so ‘perfect.’ God I want him to fail.
  8. Trask from The Forgotten War. How dare he mare one of my beloved characters!
  9. & 10. go to Eric and Jeanine from Divergent. They both cause so much trouble and I was so happy when they were finally dead.
