Possible Book To Movie – Frostbite Funding

Hmmm.

Well today my friends I come to with the need to share some news and have that news shared by as many of you as humanly possible.

The producers who turned the beloved Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead, into a not so beloved movie are seeking fan support and funding to turn the next book into a movie as well. They are aiming to raise $1,500,000 in fan funding by september 5th to prove that people want them to make the movie.

While support for the movie was well on target for the first two or three days, support has drastically dropped and it doesn’t really take that great big of a guess as to why. I think we all know that most people who enjoyed the books so much, were not such fans of the movie. I myself really really really tried to like it but they just tried too hard to make it funny or did things that were not needed at all that it really did put me off.

So if I didn’t like the first one why am I trying to spread the word of the fundraiser and gain support for the next book?

Because I want to believe the next one will be better.

I cannot promise the next movie will be any better than the first. Just from the brief clip at the end of the first movie you can see that things have already been changed from what we know as readers. However, just from the clip they have on the fundraising sight, and all the attention that they seem to be giving fans and the communication they are doing, I so badly wish to believe that they have learnt what they did wrong the first time round and now understand what way they should take the series.

While I am worried, so worried, that they may mar another book by producing a movie that was not up to par, I am willing to take that chance to see if my faith in the producers is worth it. I am willing to pay for that chance. I have already donated $150 and plan on doing more when I get paid next. I want to see what they do. I want to see Adrian! Don’t you guys?

I know many of you lost faith after the last one and have left the movie series and moved onto other things, giving it up for a lost cause. But we fans need you to come back and have that faith with me and the other supporters. They wont even try to do better if we can’t show them we want them to.

Donating doesn’t have to be ‘a waste of money either.’ You can pick a pack and get goodies for your money. If the money isn’t raised you shall get a refund and it will be like the whole thing never happened.

But we want it to, so give it ago. If enough people just donate $5 each we can reach our goal. So give it a chance to be better.

Till Next Time…

Review – MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I loved this. But I’m going to warn you again, there is going to be huge spoilers in this because I just have to talk it. Serious, ruin the end of the book for you spoilers.

You get a lot more in this one that you got in the first one. It still opens up lots a questions that don’t really get answered because it is written in a very series like manor. You are satisfied with how much you get but it wouldn’t be able to stand on its own very well.

You meet the characters better in this one, its not just focused on Rose and Lissa though they are still the main characters. Lissa becomes a more complete and confident person, and Rose starts to struggle with a many guy issue, she has three of them throughout this book. She also starts to crumble a little bit mentally, but there are good reasons for this. One to do with her and Lissa’s bond which isn’t really completely touched on in this book, but the events towards the end also have the right to leave her tad unstable.

You get to see more of her friend Mason, which was both good and devastating at the same time. He is just a totally lovable and though I don’t think he and Rose should be together, he totally deserved someone better than her, she kinda jerked him around a little bit. I was heartbroken when he died. That scene at the end where Rose is standing over his body covered in blood and holding a sword because she just avenged his death and shes so in shock she doesn’t realise that help has come and shes about to go at them for coming near him, was really well written.

We also get to meet Adrian for the first time, and so far I think he is my favourite character. Most of the parts that had me laughing out loud had to do with him. One of my favourite lines which Rose says about Adrian is “I don’t think anyone had expected Adrian to suddenly take an abrupt trip to Crazyville.” You also meet Rose’s mother for the first time. They have a really awkward relationship. I didn’t really think she was developed all that well, but is hard to completely understand guardians personalities and feelings when part of their roles as guardians is to hide all those things and stay calm, level headed and focus only on those they are protecting.

You also get more action from the Strigoi which livened up the plot a lot more because they didn’t really make much of an appearance in the first book and they are such a big deal in this world which has been created. A lot more action happened in this one than in the first, but because it is written for a series lots of things arent answered or shown completely yet. They probably wont be until the end.
