Readathon Kids Challenge

Sharing our love of books with the next generation is fun. During the readathon you might find yourself in the company of future readers. Perhaps you’re pregnant and in the habit of reading to your bump, or maybe you have a new baby, toddler, sibling, niece, nephew etc. Maybe you don’t have any kids around you today but you are enjoying some children’s classics. Take a picture of your toddler’s readathon stack, or of your baby looking through a book. Kids and books, let your creativity lead you. Use props, recreate a book cover… Whatever you do make sure to use the hashtag #readathonkids

Be sure to check out the host blog for information on prizes!

Since I have no children I am choosing to take a picture on what I would read to any potential children I may have. This list is for youngish children. I would have more books in an older child’s TBR.

So I fell asleep. My energy drink high has apparently crashed. I think I need to switch up the books maybe to get a bit more reading done.

I curse this challenge for happening while I am gross and tired to I followed the books lead.

I love this book because of its diverse plot topic and for being way more awesome than I expected!

I didn’t end up napping. This is going to cost me but as of right now I actually feel ok. Maybe a bit slower than normal but ok.

Introduction Survey

This is hosted by the main blog. Check out everyone’s entries here.

What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

In my head I started singing I come from a land down under. Just encase you don’t get it, Im from Brisbane Australia!

Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

Now I love Nana but that is a reread so I have to say the book I am currently reading! I loved the cartoon as a kid.

Which snack are you most looking forward to?

Since I worked before and was not staying at home the week before this event I don’t actually have anything other than cereal. I don’t think I have milk though. I am going to have to do a food run at some point.

Tell us a little something about yourself!

I volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary for my tafe course and its the reason I am sleep deprived before this even started. I love it though.

If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

I did do last years one and I don’t remember much other than being tired before it started, and I have already failed at that. Oh well better luck next time!

Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon – October 2015

11999190_10155934214935618_2131257031_o

Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is an event that goes for 24 hours and everyone all around the world starts at the same time. This time the event is taking place on the 17th of October.

If you would like to sign up go ahead and do that here, for times check them out here, and for a list of prizes that you can win by being in this competition check them out here.

Now for me this even is starting at 10pm on the 17th. This poses an issue since on this day I will be getting up at 5-5:30 am for work and don’t finish till 4:30pm… Its safe to say I will be very tired before it even starts. I am going to try and have a nap when I get home but I have issues with sleep so I do not know how that is going to go.

Now the books I am hoping to get through are as follows:

dragonfly in amber animals of farthing wood Nana 1

Now I don’t expect to get through all of Dragonfly In Amber, or all of one of the others, but at least one of these things will be finished!
