Top Ten Tuesday – In One Sitting

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books I Read In One Sitting

Now I don’t know if I read all of these in one sitting the first time, and some of them I probably took naps or snacks in but basically was just a disgusting mess until I finished them.

1. On the Jellicoe Road By Melina Marchetta. Really at this point I think you guys expect to see this book on every list.

2. The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Not the first time, but I have done it before.

3. Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead. Every single one of them. There was like a week there when I just smashed through all the books.

4. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. I smashed the audiobook of this.

5. Losing it by Cora Carmack. Romance books are the easiest to do in one sitting.

6. Beautiful Mess by Lucy V. Morgan.

7. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. I know I got through this in a day because I actually borrowed this book from my cousin and I wanted to make sure I finished it before I left the state.

8. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. So short and so good.

9. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I flew through this little shortie.

10. Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland. I got through it in one sitting because I had the event and I wanted to actually have read it before going.

Top Ten Tuesday – Autumn TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books On My Autumn TBR

Most of the books on this weeks list are ones publishers have sent me and I still haven’t read. Hopefully I snap out of my seemingly endless reading slump soon and I can actually get to them since a few of these are making a second if not third appearance on a TBR list.

1. Vigilante by Kady Cross. I can to read this one by next week!

2. The Impossible Story of Olive In Love by Tonya Alexandra. Super excited to get into this one.

3. Four Weeks Five People by Jennifer Yu.

4. Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes. Now we begin the list of things that have made more than one appearance on this list….

5. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken.

6. Broken Sky by L.A. Weatherly.

7. Witches Kiss by Katharine Corr.

8. Demon Road by Derek Landy.

9. Heartless by Marissa Meyer. Finally one I want to read just for me! I want to read so so badly…

10. Eldest by Christopher Paolini. Bit of a cheat since I am currently doing the first one but as of right now I am enjoying it enough to pick up the next.

Top Ten Tuesday – Loved But Not Reviewed

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books I Loved But I Didn’t Review

So many. Just so so many. I am catching up on my review list though! I decided to leave off ones I have written a review for but just haven’t posted it yet.

1. Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder. I have not read on with this series because I wanted to do this review first. Its one of my favourites but I still haven’t done it!

2. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. This one is the same as the above. I need to hurry the hell up.

3. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I think I read this just before or just as I was starting to blog so it got missed over but I would love to read it again and give it a review because people don’t seem to talk about it as much as they should.

4. Nana by Ai Yazawa. This one is ot entirely my fault. I have notes for most of them but I lost my notes for the first four volumes somehow so I have to go through them again.

5. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. :\

6. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. :(

7. Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. D’:

8. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I have no idea why didn’t review this book but at this point I might as well just read it again because I don’t remember it well enough.

9. Child Of The Prophecy by Juliet Marillier. I really regret not reviewing this book straight away, its going to be hard to review it after letting it set for awhile.

10. Blue Spring Ride by Io Sakisaka. I think this one missed out on a review because I was not home when I read it. Oh well I will just have to read it again :D

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Books I HAD To Buy But I Still Haven’t Read

1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This book gets top place because I have two copies!

2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I have both books.

3. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I have all of this series.

4. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I have the second book too! I don’t feel so bad about this one though because I know I will like it when I get to it.

5. The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly by Stephanie Oakes. I read like the first two pages and then put it down because I loved it and didn’t have time to do it at the time.

6. Because You’ll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas.

7. The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness.

8. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Yep…

9. The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I have read like one story from this giant thing.

10. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. Started and then put down because I am reading another scifi book at the same time and it was getting confusing.

Top Ten Tuesday – Loved Less Books

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books I Loved Less Than I Thought I Would

1. A Game Of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. I loved the show so I thought I would like more details. It didn’t go the way I wanted.

2. Soundless by Richelle Mead. I was sooo excited for this book. It had so much potential.

3. Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. It still shocks me that this one gets so many positive reviews.

4.  The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead. While I was sort of prepared for a not the best ending, I still had the highest of hopes.

5. My Heart and Other Black Holes by Becky Albertalli. I had heard so many good things and it just didn’t reach all of them for me.

6. Looking for Alaska by John Green. Ok, not the best and not really up to how crazy people are about it. For me anyway.

7. Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headly. I WAS SO EXCITED AND IT WAS SO SAD THAT I BARELY LIKED IT.

8. Half Bad by Sally Green. Again, it sounded like the best thing ever.

9. His Dark Materials Series by Philip Pullman. This was a hype one for me. I get why others liked it, but it just didn’t reach that level for me.

10.Across the Universe by Beth Revis. More hype. I went in expecting so much.

Top Ten Tuesday – Not Sexy Romances

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Romances That I Didn’t Get Into

Now even though this is on valentines day and its supposed to be lovey dovey, it hasnt been that long since I did a list revolving around romance I liked. So I decided to do a list of romances that I didn’t find sexy or that I didn’t get into. These are not all romance books, just romances I didn’t like. If you wish to see a list of ones I did enjoy you can go to Books That Make Me Swoon. These books are not in any kind of order scale, just the order I thought of them. Enjoy!

1. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. This is not my idea of a healthy relationship. Made my ovaries dry up.

2. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Bill by far is the most boring ‘hunk’ to ever walk the earth. I basically fell asleep everytime he popped up.

3. Head Over Wheels by January Valentine. Both of the main character suffered serious PMS and I wanted to kill them both most of the time.

4. Looking For Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta. The boyfriend was a tool. Enough said.

5. Nana by Ai Yazawa. I am pretty sure the romance I didn’t like pops up around vol 6. Takumi is satan. You choose wrong Nana K! Any other choice would have been better.

6. Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland. Another perfect example of a very unhealthy relationship. This one had me screaming with the hate of it.

7. My Heart and Other Black Holes by Becky Albertalli. Unhealthy start to a relationship. Probably would have been better as friends.

8. The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner. Just so soo so dumb. Its shoved in our aces then doesn’t happen for such dumb reasons.

9. The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead. Its not that is was bad I guess… It was just really really boring.

10. Soundless by Richelle Mead. Again one I just didn’t care about. What has happened to you Mead?!

Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Wish Had More/Less Pages

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books I Wish Had More/Less Pages

I wish I had a more original idea for this week but I don’t so here goes! I have split it up between books I want more pages for and ones I wish had less.

More Pages

1. Nana by Ai Yazawa. I want more pages because its not finished yet and probably never will be. God I just want an ending D’:

2. Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino. The end was sort of rushed and felt a bit messy and I just generally wished that the series never ended.

Nana 1 vk1

3. The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead. Why oh why did you rush it. You didn’t need to smoosh it into that amount of pages. VA was twice as large, we were used to large!

4. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. It would have been so much better if it was split up ad given more time like the movies!

5. Soundless by Richelle Mead. Perhaps if she gave herself more pages the book would have worked better. Weaved in more of the fantasy.

Ruby Circle Mockingjay_novel soundless

Less Pages

1. Passion by Lauren Kate. The bits that were needed in this book could have so easily been put at the start of the last book or at the end of the one before.

2. The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. Oh my god about a third at least of this book was the most boring thing ever. It could have been done in a much smaller amount of pages.

passion witching-hour

3. Magician by Raymond E. Feist. Again, there was a veru large section in this book that was just so boring. It should have been shorter.

4. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. It has that random bit at the end where people are studying the writing and I really don’t think its needed.

5. The Host by Stephanie Meyer. For so long I wished that this story ended earlier, either the sad ending or the first happy ending. I have grown more used to it now though.

Top Ten Tuesday – Visually Appealing Graphic Books

topten

Welcome back to my first Top Ten Tuesday of the year! Fingers crossed I can keep it up.

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Visually Appealing Graphic Books

In this list I am including everything. Graphic novels, mangas, and picture books!

1. Harry Potter Illustrated Series. These are just so beautiful. I have the first two but I have yet to read them. I was going to do it in December when everyone else was reading them but I missed it due to life. Oh well next time!

2. Knite by Yuumei. Now I am cheating a bit for this one I think because its not actually a printed work (I don’t think, she may have done a run of it at some point). BUT I couldn’t not include it on this list because it is so so pretty. Has a good message too.

3. The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I haven’t read all of them but the artwork in this series is just stunning.

4. Through the Wood by Emily Carroll. Again I have yet to read this book but it is truly just a work of art.

5. The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman. Yes he made the list again without me having to read the novel. The illustrations in his work just make me so happy.

6. Fisheye Placebo by Yuumei. Again cheating, but I can’t help myself. The art and the story is amazing. Go read it and become sad like me waiting for her and her team to put up more chapters.

7. Saga by Brian K. Vaughan. It seems I don’t read enough graphic novels. The art in this though has definitely caught my eye.

8. Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino. I don’t think I need to talk about this series and how beautiful it is at this point.

9. Nana by Ai Yazawa. The artwork mixed with the story just makes this series one of the best things ever.

10. Beautiful Darkness by Fabien Vehlmann. One day I read all the things on this list that I haven’t, until then I shall just look at how beautiful they are.

Top Ten Tuesday – Recently Top Rated Books

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Recently Read High Rated Books

I want to give a big shout out to goodreads, without whom these kinds of lists would be a bit harder. Thank you for doing all the work goodreads! These are from latest to oldest 5 star rated books.

1. Magic Study by Marie V. Snyder. I also read the first book in this series too but I decided to put in the last books from whichever series I choose to put on there. I love these books so much. Easy to read but super exciting.

2. Nana by Ai Yazawa. Beautiful art with such a sad story.

3. Ouran High School Host Club by Bisco Hatori. So fun with some good amounts of serious through in.

4. Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. Do I really need to say anything here?

magic-study-2007 nana11 ouran1 queen of shadows

5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I don’t even care if half the world seems to hate it. I loved it.

6. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. So well done. Simple and powerful.

7. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Despite the fact everyone seems to love this book I went it thinking I wasn’t going to like it at all. I am so glad I did!

red_queen_book_cover_a_p speak the-perks-of-being-a-wallflower-review

8. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. While the end felt out of place I loved every other part of this book.

9. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Probably one of the best things ever written.

10. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. One of my top five books of all time.

Top Ten Tuesday – Books I Need To Talk About More

topten

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created over at Broke and the Bookish where every Tuesday, Top Ten things of anything are listed. Todays Top Ten things are:

Top Ten Books I Love & Need To Talk About More

I will try and just mention not very well know books, but I don’t promise much. These will not be in any particular order.

1. Hunting Down Amanda by Andrew Klavan. I don’t think I have ever mentioned this book on here but it was truly amazing. Its the reason I have read so many of his books. I need to read it again so I can talk about it more.

2. The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Another book I remember loving but don’t really talk about because I feel like I need to read it again to make sure I am remembering it correctly. I get the feeling this might be the case with a few of them.

3. The Queen of the Tearling series by Erika Johansen. What the second book did to me still causes so many issues. I need the third one now! My issue here is that I can’t openly talk about a series without ruining D:

4. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. So well written in such a simple way about a topic that is not always as simple.

hunting down amanda thirteenth Tale TheQueenoftheTearling speak

5. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I need to at least get the review out so I can go read the other series and be up to date with everyone else!

6. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. This series in general. And I also need to get he reviews out for the first two books. All the things.

7. The Cursed Kingdoms series by Emily Gee. I loved the first two books but I haven’t read the third and I barely ever mention them. It raises some interesting ideas I haven’t seen in other books while being your classic fantasy.

8. The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey. So beautiful and just so simply magical. I love this is it magic or isn’t vibe its got.

9.  The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton. Again, that little bit of magic. This story is so sad but just so stunning.

10. On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. Because I physically cannot talk about it enough.
