Review – MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

Well I suppose I should start off this review by saying that I got this book after receiving an email from the author requesting a review and they sent it to me fresh off the press! It was all very exciting for me.

Ok, I think my first miscommunication with this book was when I looked at the cover combined with the title. I feel it mislead me a little. By the title and the hot people kissing and the way it all just came together made me think that they were smoking hot people who rode motorbikes and were more on that side of things. Don’t get me wrong, motorbikes are mentioned and they do kinda ride them, but they aren’t in the story nearly as much just normal bikes are. Bikes just aren’t as steamy or hot as motorbikes. I did really really enjoy the little touch of putting simple character drawings at the beginning of the book though to kind of show were he characters tattoos are. As something that isn’t done that often it was nice to see.

Ok now onto the characters! I think they both suffer from just serious cases of PMS, and really I don’t know how they just didn’t kill each other or themselves. I would hate to be in that much emotional turmoil all the time over basically nothing.

Jewel I looked and was presented to be a strong character, but she just didn’t stand up for herself enough for my liking. After two weeks no contact she actually had every right to be all PMSy for a change but the second she looks at him she doesn’t even feel the need to discuss it anymore. I thought that was a bit of a draw back with her character.

Indigo just had too many names. I swear nearly everyone in the book had a different name for him. Though I can get people having nicknames, it just kind of felt like a solid name/nickname wasn’t chosen for him and thusly he just got every single name/nickname that could be thought of. That being said, I liked him. I mean really, who doesn’t like a bloody fine doctor? When it comes to romance novels things like that are generally going to draw people in because they want to place themselves with the smexy doctor who is all troubled and brooding. I can help him! Oh please oh please let me be the one to sooth his broken soul! Though the reason for his depression, though understandable, lasted way too long. The even happened years before he started seeing Jewel yet its the thing that creates all his PMS. The on the other end of the scale I feel that Jewel made him get over it way too quickly, Im sure her soothing powers are magical, but for something he has held onto so tightly for years, I find myself doubting she is that magical.

The Bitches as I dubbed them aka Indigo’s mother and his childhood friend Veronica, I liked. They served their purpose. They were trying to disrupt or break up our couple in a way that I thought was totally realistic and actually would probably happen in real life if someone was presented with the situations we are given in the book. I pleasantly hated them. Well done! Though, I didn’t like just how quickly our couple fell head over heels for each other. They had 5 dates, fought at least once each time, and then they were proclaiming love. I personally wouldn’t want to be in a situation like that.

The dialogue felt unrealistic to me however. Or at least in terms of how people talk where I live. Too many Babes and Babys being said.

In terms of theme not much happened until the end. SPOILER I didn’t like how Veronica turned out to be crazy and was framing Jewel for the robberies. Her character was realistic up until that point, and it was kind of random and didn’t really fit with the rest of the style and a strange way to bring the main characters closer together again.

I don’t know if it is because of the copy I got but there were some grammatical errors in there that bugged me.

I know sometimes it must seem like I just bitch about things are you must wonder why things get rated so high since I mainly say what bothered me. There are reasons! Despite anything I point out I still enjoyed it enough to rate it that high. I liked pretty much all the characters excluding moments of PMS and random character design changes, and I was more than happy to sit their and read about their lives.
