Sunday Shopping – Kaisercraft Haul

At the moment in life I am very low on money. Really the only thing I occasionally spend money on is owlcrate which I am sick of talking about all the time, or occasionally clothing which isn’t really relevant for this space. So Sunday Shopping will generally be few and fare between unless I talk about things I have gotten in the past and have yet to talk about. This post however is about a random trip to the craft store.

I had recent;y discovered a new craft store opening up in the same complex as my work. They were doing a one day only 50% off kaisercraft brand name things. I was very interested but thought it best to stay away to try and save the money. On that day however my partners phone completely died and he needed to go out to get a new one. We went to a different complex to where I work and right next to the optus store was a kaisercraft. There was no avoiding it at this point.

Total Spend: $21.31

In the grand scheme of things I didn’t go too crazy, and only spent $21.31 in the store put I only didn’t get all that much. The thought of spending double that on things means I probably wouldn’t have bought them. I was going to list all the things and their prices, but the website didn’t want to provide me with online prices and I threw out the docket like a smart person.

I got a 2019 diary which is adorable, and 2019 desk calendar which I didn’t take into account that it has no writing space so is useless to me and I should have thought it through more. Then for bookstagram I got some small paper flowers for decoration, and some different background paper. This is the only thing I even slightly remember what the price was because it was about $1.40, and I thought that was loads for just one small sheet of paper. To make a backdrop big enough to actually get a shot I need four of them together.

I do really like most the things though so if they ever do a sale like that again I will definitely be going back. I will probably go back to just look at all the pretties as well.

Till Next Time. . .

Sunday Shopping – Craftedvan

Welcome to Sunday Shopping, where I talk about any goodies I have bought. I will talk about prices, feeling, my impression and whether or not I think I will be going back for another purchase!

craftedvan

I discovered this store after I received my first Happy Hello! order and fell in love with magnetic bookmarks and went on a random etsy hunt for more. After browsing the store I thought the cup of tea would be very appropriate and I love foxes so I went with a fox as well.

How did I find the store – Random etsy searching and probably some youtubers.

How much (AU) + Shipping – $6.50 each + $5.42 shipping to Aus = $18.42. Etsy is super helpful and lets you change what currency and where it is being shipping to so make sure you check your info!

Size – 4.7 and 6.4 cm

Feel – It is the paper from hell. Its sort of tacky and rough to touch, and touching it feels like how I feel when I accidentally run my nails down a chalk board.

Quality – Sturdy and probably wont rip unless you are super rough with it.

My thoughts – I love the designs and think they are super cute but I barely ever use them because I hate touching them.

Will I be visiting this store again – If I found out that they were using different paper I would be back, but sadly I don’t really see that happening. If anyone knows if they changed paper you should let me know!

Sunday Shopping – The Store of Requirement

What I missed a week? Huh? What? I don’t know what you are talking about.

For those of you who live in Brisbane you may be interested in this weeks Sunday Shopping topic. Maybe not in a good way though, because I don’t have that many great things to say about our new local Harry Potter store, The Store of Requirement.

A friend and I have had this store on our bucket list of adventures ever since it opened up. It is really safe to say that our expectations were super high as we hyped ourselves up over the course of months before we finally took to plunge and went. This may not have been the best thing in all the world, because it is after all just a themed store. Its not an attraction.

My first experience walking through the door was magical. Outside was magical and on the inside there was just stuff everywhere, but it was all set up really nicely. My first lap just looking at everything was lovely and there was so much to look at. The couches pictures in my second picture were not there on my visit and there was extra tables set up with merchandise. I loved the little back section that was was the sitting area. There were posters and letters and paintings that made me feel like I might have been sitting in one of the house rooms. If it wasn’t constantly filled with people I would have happily done a photo shoot. There was also closet room that had a really lovely set up.

My second time round I actually started to look at the prices on things. Unless you want to sell body parts on the black market, most things are wildly expensive. Granted I have never bought Harry Potter themed clothing or anything before, but god. People who have wardrobes of the stuff must be making good money or going without food for awhile. I did purchase an Ink & Wonder woodmark which is pictures for about $14, which I love. But the only reason I bought it was because I could not find it the artists website anymore. It is cheaper for people within Australia to buy directly from the actual artist rather than in this store and would suggest that everyone just goes there. I was really happy to see Ink & Wonder featured so heavily in the store. I like that they were supporting at least one local artist.

In terms of things that you could do other than buy things, you could get sorted by the sorting hat, get some sweets and have a butter beer. I chose to skip the sorting hat because I was a little worried that it would put me in a house other than Hufflepuff, but I was all about the butter beer. It was the main reason I was going there. I was so excited to finally try this drink that everyone keeps harping on about. I chose to get it without cream because I don’t like it, but I feel like the drink would have been better with it. It was very sparkling waterish. It was a mix of creaming soda, sarsaparilla and something else we couldn’t really decide on. It was bad. I drank maybe a fifth of my $7(?) drink and it made me feel sick. My friend was braver and got a bit past halfway and it killed her, she went home and just went to bed for the rest of the day because it was making her feel so sick. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I think I was thinking something thicker, not something so bubbly. We each also got a sweet, I had a brownie that was just alright and my friend had a cupcake with so much glitter on it that it was covering her for the rest of the day no matter how hard we tried to get it all off. To top off all this uncomfortableness, there wasn’t anywhere to sit to consume these things other than this one little stool outside. I didn’t feel like we could have these things in store. As I said those two big couches were not in there anymore, and all the outdoor tables were reserved for the cafes that were next door.

And that was my experience. Honestly, if I ever felt like I had money to blow and get myself some Hufflepuff gear, I would go back. Or if they get more things to do. But other than that I have no desire. I am certainly never getting another butter beer unless is looks different, and then I will try someone elses drink first.

Sunday Shopping – Fandom Of The Month

sundayshopping

Today I bring you a Fandom of the Month unboxing! After filming this I noticed that the cards  that come in these boxes don’t actually list any of the items within or who made them so I am unable to do my normal break down for these boxes but I will do the best I can.

For any Australians reading/watching is cost me about $34 to buy the box and have it shipped here from the US. Out of the four things in this box I will wear three of them and love them to bits. The watch also seems like its pretty good quality and would be worth a bit so I was really happy with this box. However the downfall to this series is that they don’t tell you what the theme of each box is and if its not something you like that is a lot of money to waste.

Sunday Shopping – December Nerdybookworm & Owlcrate

sundayshopping

Mystery Figure from Funko!:

Cost – US – 11.5, AUD – 15

Shipping – I have the option to buy these instore here so I have decided to leave shipping prices off this one.

Thoughts – The one i ended up with is pretty damn cute.

Would I Buy It – Yes, but only if I had an $15 to blow because they are rather pricey for what they are and I might not get one I actually want.

Lord of the Rings Pin from Ideal Bookshelf:

Cost – US – 11, AUD – 14.35

Shipping – US – 10.95, AUD – 14.29

Thoughts – I think its something I would never have thought to get but its super cute.

Would I Buy It – If I were to get into pins, I know I would go at them hard but as of right now I don’t think I would buy it because they are not something I am really interested in.

Game of Thrones Coasters from Dark Horse Comics:

Cost – US – 9.99, AUD – 13.03

Shipping – Dark horse don’t seem to ship these kind of things to Australia so unless I found them in another shop I cannot find the price of shipping.

Thoughts – I don’t really have any furniture nice enough for me to ever feel the need to use coasters but I spose one day I might?

Would I Buy It – Nope.

Greeting card from Susanne Draws:

Cost – The shop was closed when I looked to get prices (it opens tomorrow of course) so if I remember I shall update it.

Thoughts – Cute but not something I would buy. I might buy something else from the artist, but not a card.

Would I Buy It – Not a card.

Thoughts – So i couldn’t seem to find the sticker option on the page, so I don’t know if the sticker was a one off or if you can normally get them.

Sunday Shopping – Appraising Pages Nightmare

sundayshopping

So I sort of failed again to get prices for things but you still get a good idea of the value. I loved loved loved this box.

Jack & Sally Mug from Evie Seo:

Cost – US – 15, AUD – 20.54

Shipping – Soooo shipping was free the day I checked. I will update later if I remember.

Thoughts – This is probably one the best things I have ever seen. It makes me wish I drank more hot drinks.

Would I Buy It – Yes, in fact I think I am going to go buy some stuff since there is free shipping at the moment.

Christmas Town Shirt from Appraising Pages:

Cost – US – 20, AUD – 27.38

Shipping – US – 20, AUD – 27.38

Thoughts –This is one of the cutest and comfy things I have ever put on.

Would I Buy It – I would pick it up if it was on sale, as that is a lot of money for a shirt.

Jack Ornament from Appraising Pages:

Thoughts – I couldn’t find anything like this on the page so I don’t know the cost. I think it is super cute though and I totally love it.

Would I Buy It – Yes. For many people.

Candle from Cherry Pit Crafts:

Thoughts – So there were no candles on the etsy store when I looked so I couldn’t find prices! Seems to be a recurring thing here. I did really like the candle and it smells amazing when lit.

Would I Buy It – Probably not because I could find something that smells that good just in one of my local stores.

Sally Bookmark from Nerdy GRL Designs:

Thoughts – So the store is closed for the holidays… WAAAAA don’t you know I need information. It is super super cute though and the other items on the site (that I can see from reviews) look adorable.

Would I Buy It – Yes, and I will go back and buy more form the store one day.

What I Paid For The Box: US – 55, AUD – 74.41

Box Worth: US – 55+, AUD – 75.30+ (Exchange rate changed so the price is different)

Final Thoughts: Would Buy Again. Yes. Need More.

Sunday Shopping – Lootwear

sundayshopping\

Since there was only one thing in this ‘box’ this shall be a short and sweet breakdown. I really like the design of the shirt but the fit wasn’t quite right for my body so it will probably only end up being a pajama shirt rather than one I wear out.

What I Paid For The Box: US – 14.99, AUD – 20.25

Final Thoughts: If the theme was right I would buy again

Sunday Shopping – Kal-Elle Unboxing

sundayshopping

Hello my lovely people. I hope you enjoy todays Kal-Elle Unboxing video!

The following is a failure of a complete price breakdown. Because most things have come from Kal-Elle’s own shops I found this meant that I could find nothing on pretty much everything. She has a facebook page where she doesn’t actually post pricing or postage for anything, and she also has an etsy which the name of is never actually mentioned so I couldn’t even find it to get information.

Nightmare Before Christmas Necklace designed by Kal-Elle:

Cost – US – 18, AUD – 24.19

Shipping – US – 2.75, AUD – 3.70

Thoughts – I love the necklace but I would have preferred gold.

Would I Buy It – No but I would love it as a gift.

Jack Skellington Headband by The Purple Chameleon:

Cost – US – 3.85, AU – 5.18

Shipping – Does not ship to AU!

Thoughts –  I don’t normally wear things like this but I think its cute and will probably wear it sometimes.

Would I Buy It – No and I can’t because it doesn’t ship here.

Nightmare Before Christmas Earring Set:

Thoughts – I love them they are small and very cute.

Would I Buy It – Yes

Jack Skellington Keychain:

Thoughts – Really good quality and seems very strong and reliable.

Would I Buy It – In a heart beat, might even have gotten some as presents.

Art Prints:

Thoughts – I think they are both very sunning and are good quality.

Would I Buy It – Yes I would.

Oogie Boogie Bracelet:

Thoughts – While I liked it at first I soon didn’t like it because it was impossible to get it on or off.

Would I Buy It – No.

Lock, Stock, and Barrel with Zero Magnet:

Thoughts – Cute but not something I would normally buy.

Would I Buy It – Nope.

What I Paid For The Box: US – 27.16, AUD – 36.51

Box Worth: US – 24.60+, AUD – 33.07+

Final Thoughts: Would Give It Another Go

I really liked some of the things but not really enough for the box to be really worth it. Then again I liked enough to give the box another go so I signed up for the next one.

OwlCrate Unboxing

sundayshopping

Welcome to a Sunday Shopping! Today I bring you OwlCrate along with an unboxing video :D

The following is a complete breakdown of pricing.

Fabric Button Bookmark from My Heart My Tribe:

Cost – US – 4.99, AUD – 6.80

Shipping – ?

Thoughts – So I couldn’t find anything but an instagram page for this store and the only price I could find was the above. This does not include shipping. If I could find an easier way to purchase these I might consider buying them but not with the current system.

Would I Buy It – Not right now.

Oz Passport Notebook from The Unemployed Philosopher’s Guild:

Cost – US – 10, AUD – 13.63

Shipping – US – 12.25, AUD – 16.70

Thoughts – For this store you can only place orders if they are 10+ and the notebook costs less than that, so the price could very well be more because you have to buy more than one item. I don’t mind some of the other items but not many.

Would I Buy It – I would pick a different design if I wanted something else from the store.

Charm Bracelet from The Geeky Cauldron:

Cost – ?

Shipping – ?

Thoughts – I was unable to check any pricing for this item because the store is currently closed. I do love the bracelet though.

Would I Buy It – Yes, if it was a reasonable price.

Lost Boys Beanie from Whosits and Whatsits:

Cost – US – 22, AUD – 29.99

Shipping – US – 14.55, AUD – 19.83

Thoughts – As I don’t like the beanie and beanies are not something I would buy anyway I think the cost of this item it way too high.

Would I Buy It – No.

Vassa In The Night by Sarah Porter:

Cost – US – 13.39, AUD – 17.92

What I Paid For The Box: US – 49.98, AUD – 65.44

Box Worth: US – 77.18, AUD – 104.87

Final Thoughts: Would Buy Again

So there is some extra value in buying this box as it would have cost me quite a bit more to get everything separately. If I were to know everything in the box I would not have gotten it all but I think the excitement on those few items I would want plus a surprise book is worth the other things I didn’t want.
