On the evening of Sofia Claremont’s seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.
A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.
Sofia’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? …or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?

Review – MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I received this book in exchanged for my honest review.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Vampire books have been done and done and done to death because of Twilight, and so really there isn’t much left to the genre. However I thought this book had a good new kind of twist to it.

The idea of them having a secret island of vampires and their slaves was pretty damn interesting, but when the idea that the highest ranking of them live in huge mansions in the trees that are all connected with glass walkways. Awesome.

There were a few things that annoyed me however. At one point our main character Sofia calls a vampire Pitchy in her head because of the sound of his voice and the lack of a name. But then later on in the story someone else calls him Pitchy also without Sofia having told them her nickname. His name would not have been Pitchy in real life, everyone else has normal names.

I liked the characters, I found them nice enough and I enjoyed it when they got close to each other and shared moments, but when bad things happened it didn’t really bother me that they were going through it. For the most part their dialogue was pretty good but there were moments when it bothered me. The love between them happened fast, but not so fast I wanted to rip my eyes out. Sofia was a bit too why me but thats her character. I thought Derek was a hunk but also why me but he was asleep most of his vamp life to he can kind of get away with it because he is not used to it fully yet. I look forward to more of him and his family so I can work out what on earth is going on between them all.

I feel if there had been more to the story it could have really been done well and had more room for development, but because it was short I felt like it didn’t have the room it needed to come to its own.

Anyway, I liked this book good enough and have added the next one to my reading list so give it a read and see what you think.
